For as long as I can remember, I have loved discovering wonderful places across the UK. Childhood holidays at Blackpool and Whitley Bay, heritage steam trains in Lancashire and Leicestershire, stunning scenery in the Firth of Clyde, the beaches of the Gower Peninsula and a glass of whiskey at Bushmills Distillery are just a few of many lasting memories.

Through 100 Days Out, I aim to share my love of travelling the length and breadth of Britain. As well as this blog, you can follow @100daysout on Twitter or visit my regional Facebook pages.

Below is a small selection of my favourite places (all images Copyright John Oyston)

Bolton Abbey, North Yorkshire

Rhossili Bay, Gower South Wales

Romney Hythe and Dymchurch Railway, Kent

Hartlepool Marina, Cleveland

View of Edinburgh, Scotand

Carrick a Rede Rope Bridge, Northern Ireland

  1. You could spend a liftetime finding amazing places in the U.K. I moved here from the U.S. nine years ago, and it still knocks me out.
